Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) Prospective Provider Information

This section provides information for professionals interested in enrolling to provide services to participants in the Adult Autism Waiver (AAW). We encourage you to consider if the potential long-term benefits of being an enrolled provider in the AAW aligns with your organization’s strategic goals and capacity.

Prior to starting the initial qualification and enrollment process for the Adult Autism Waiver (AAW), please consider the following:

– The AAW is a Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Medicaid waiver designed to provide long-term services and supports to Pennsylvanians with autism . Services and supports are tailored to the specific needs of adults ages 21 or older so they may live and participate in their communities.

– The AAW currently has capacity to support 743 participants statewide.

– Due to the limited size of this waiver, your agency should be prepared for a commitment to initial qualification and ongoing monitoring processes without the immediate prospect of serving individuals under this waiver.

– A copy of the waiver and participant eligibility information can be found here: Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) | Department of Human Services | Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
