Supporting Families in Winter

All Pennsylvanians experience challenges during the winter as the cold temperatures, snow and ice affect our daily lives and activities.  Families with a loved one with a disability often have even more concerns from the change in season.  The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Supporting Families Leadership Team used the Integrated Supports Star to identify supports that can help families meet the unique needs that come in winter. The Integrated Supports Star is one of the tools of Charting the LifeCourse curated by the LifeCourse Nexus.  It reminds us that everyone accesses a variety of supports to meet their day-to-day needs, support the achievement of long-term or short-term goals, solve problems, or enhance their quality of life.  Click here to download the Integrated Supports Star Tip Sheet: an overview of how and why to use this tool.
