Jefferson University Seeking Participants for Health Passport Study
The Jefferson Center for Autism and Neurodiversity at Jefferson University, in partnership with Special Olympics, is seeking participants to take part in a study on enhancing healthcare experiences for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Jefferson is inviting individuals with IDD to participate in the study. The study will assess the usability, feasibility, and acceptability of the Health Passport (HSE). The Health Passport is a tool developed by Health Services Executive of Ireland. It is a personal health care documentation application that seeks to simplify the communication of health care needs for individuals with disabilities. The application includes sections on Critical Information, Personal Information, Communication, Decision Making, Medical History, Food and Drink, and Personal Care. These categories can be customized with information unique to the individual that may ease communication barriers in the health care setting.
The Jefferson University study is looking to assess the feasibility of using the Health Passport.
