An impairment of language, affecting the production or comprehension of speech and the ability to read or write

Seven tips for communicating with someone with Aphasia:

A – Ask simple questions
P – Provide choices
H – Help communicate, if asked
A – Acknowledge it, if there is frustration
S – Speak slowly and clearly
I – If you don’t understand, say so
A – Allow extra time
