The Office of Developmental Programs Division of Quality Management (QM) has issued its latest edition of the QM Spotlight.

This issue focuses on the ODP’s revised Quality Management Plan & Action Review Checklist. The QM Plan & Action Review Checklist was developed by the Division of Quality Management as a supplemental document for agency QM reviewers. The checklist encourages engaging and meaningful conversations about QM Plans and their subsequent action plans. The checklist is a structured form for providing feedback, technical assistance, and suggestions for improvement.

Quality management plan reviewers are encouraged to use and share this checklist for:

CONSISTANCY

STANDARDIZED REVIEWING STATEWIDE = REVIEWER FIDELITY = IMPROVED DATA INTEGRITY

• Clear and consistent guidelines to follow when reviewing plans.
• Can be used as a self assessment tool during the planning or evaluation process.

OWNERSHIP/ACCOUNTABILITY

TEAM OWNERSHIP = EMPOWERMENT TO AFFECT CHANGE = COMMITMENT TO SUCCESS

• Quality is everyone’s responsiblity!
• Highlights importance of convening effective quality improvement (QI) teams including “ground level” members, committed to positive, person centered outcomes.

IMPROVEMENT

• Ensures comprehensive review of a QM plan and its Action plan.
